Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What does it cost to become a member of Nokomis Healthy Seniors? A: There is no membership fee. Volunteer services, the newsletter and other information are free. Most programs are also free.
Q: How do I get help such as a volunteer grocery shopper if I need it? A: Just call the office at 612-721-8445 and we can assist you with your need or find resources for you.
Q: What do you do with my personal information? A: We collect the information for many reasons. Much of it is for our own records (so we know how to contact you and what your needs are) or for grant funding. We do not share any of the information given to us such as name, address, phone number or household income with any other agency.
Q: Who funds Nokomis Healthy Seniors? A: State of Minnesota, Hennepin County, City of Minneapolis, private foundations, community organizations and the generous donations of the community.
Q: What is your service area? A: Please refer to the service area map to see the neighborhoods we serve.
Q: What if I don’t live in the service area? A: NHS is here to help and we can find an agency or individual who can assist you with your need.
Q: Do employees and Board members live in the community? A: Two-thirds of all staff and Board of Director members live in the Nokomis community.
Q: What do I do if I need a question answered? A: Call us at 612-729-5499. We are open five days per week and if you leave us a message, we will return your call within 48 hours.
